      Previous release updates for the HealthSmart website and the HealthSmart integrated app for LMS platforms.

      Release Updates:

      Spring Release - April, 2023

      We are excited to announce that ETR will be upgrading the HealthSmart curriculum integration with Canvas and Schoology for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. HealthSmart will be utilizing LTI v.1.3, the latest version of the LTI standard, which focuses on improved security and content delivery to create a rich learning experience.  

      Our upgraded integration offers many new benefits, see below on what to expect: 

      1. Seamless integration: With LTI v.1.3, HealthSmart will have in-app content and functionality through the LMS that allows teachers and students to access the curriculum from within Canvas/Schoology without having to use multiple systems or websites. 

      2. Enhanced security: LTI v.1.3 provides a more secure and standardized method for HealthSmart to exchange data with the LMS, protecting the privacy of institutional information. Data will sync directly with ETR, transitioning away from using a middleware integration provider. 

      3. Improved efficiency: Teachers can create a shell or template course to copy content into live classes. This gives educators an easier way to set up customized modules, units, and assignments that align with their district’s scope and sequence. 

      4. New features: Schools will receive the latest HealthSmart updates throughout the year to better support the user experience and accessibility for diverse learners. The following features will be available in Fall 2023: 

        • HealthSmart will be adaptable to multiple devices including tablets and mobile. 

        • ADA-compliant and responsive student worksheets that are user-friendly on any device. 

        • Student workbooks that are assignable in English or Spanish versions.

      Our upgraded integration offers many new benefits, see below on what to expect: 

      1. Enhanced security: The Google Classroom API integration provides a more secure and standardized method for HealthSmart to exchange data with the LMS, protecting the privacy of institutional information. Data will sync directly with ETR, transitioning away from the need to use a middleware integration provider.
