How many hours of health education do kids need?
The National Health Education Standards recommend that students in Pre-K to Grade 2 receive a minimum of 40 hours and students in Grades 3 to 12 receive a minimum of 80 hours of instruction in health education per academic year.
HealthSmart was designed to meet this goal. However, because not all schools allow this time for health education, the program was also designed to be flexible and easily tailored to the skills and healthy behavior outcomes that are most essential to your students.
